1.05 – Revealing More Ways You Can Maximise Your Marketing Impact
Improving a marketing program and increasing your business’s sales and profits can be achieved in numerous ways. Here are some ideas you might find useful; always be on the lookout for more and implement as many good ones as possible.
- Engage with your best customers: They might have valuable insights or ideas. While considering their suggestions, ensure they align with your budget and strategic goals.
- Express gratitude: A simple “thank you” and a smile, a card or note, or a polite cover letter in the invoice can go a long way. Customers appreciate feeling valued.
- Adjust your marketing territory: If your efforts are spread too thin, narrow your focus to your core region or customer type. Conversely, if there’s potential for expansion, gradually broaden your reach.
- Increase referrals: Build relationships with individuals who can refer customers to you. Always show appreciation for any leads they provide to reinforce this behavior.
- Enhance your marketing materials: Professional, creative, polished, clear, well-written, and well-produced marketing communications can significantly boost effectiveness. Presentation matters, as well-dressed consultants often earn much more than the average in their fields.
- Promote positivity: Ensure your team maintains a positive, caring attitude towards customers. Negativity can drive business away, so train and manage your team to foster a helpful and productive customer interaction environment.
- Create memorable experiences: Make doing business with you pleasant and memorable. Positive experiences can lead to repeat business and referrals.
- Focus on your strengths: Identify what you want to be the best at and invest in it. Being exceptional at something, even a small aspect, can make you stand out in the market.
- Cross-sell additional products or services: Increase the average purchase size by offering related products or services. Ensure these cross-sells are natural and genuinely beneficial to the customer.
- Utilize local web advertising: Leverage increasingly local options for online advertising. Platforms like Google Ads can target customers in your region searching for your products or services, making it a cost-effective way to generate leads.
- Address customer complaints: Understand why customers are unhappy or why they leave. Addressing these issues can help retain customers, but focus on those who match your target customer profile.
Every time you focus on marketing, aim to make at least a small improvement in how it’s done within your organization and for your customers. Consistent, incremental enhancements can lead to significant long-term gains.
